Overview
Located in the Greater Detroit area the successful candidate will partner with distributors and engineers regarding the benefits of Canon automation products to improve customer manufacturing processes. The targeted solutions will involve many types of automation systems including robotics, controls systems, sensors and vision systems.

Directly engage with our industrial products customers and partners to present product features enabling them to evaluate CANON FACTORY AUTOMATION PRODUCTS, assist with installation and troubleshooting Canon products to improve their manufacturing process. Prior robotics experience (programming or engineering) is highly preferred, knowledge of software programming helpful.

This position works remotely from a home office located near a major metropolitan city/airport in Detroit, MI, or Ohio (Cleveland, Dayton, Columbus) and requires overnight travel to support professional clients in sales activities.

This position is full time and is considered virtual. The office will be open 5 days a week; however you will not be required to report to the office unless there is a specific business need.Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stages, work with the sales team and external partner companies as the key project manager, technical advisor and product advocate
- Assist customers and partners in the installation of equipment remotely and if needed, on site. Escalate issues as needed to Headquarter's engineers.
- Provide technical support to prospective and current customers remotely and if needed, on site.
- Support sales representatives and partners through technology presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products, provide pre-sale and/or post-sale support of company products.
- Acting as a product manager in the Americas market, research, develop, propose and execute strategies and actions to increase the conversion rate.
- Prepare and provide training and seminars to prospective and current customers.
- Provide customer feedback to Headquarters for hardware and software development.
- Conduct competitor research, attend trade shows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required, preferably in Robotics Engineering, with min. 5 years of related experience
- Requires overnight travel up to 25%
- Requires knowledge of industrial or collaborative robot based factory automation, Fanuc and Universal Robot preferred.
- Familiarity with integrating, debugging, trouble shooting and basic programing of major industrial or collaborative robot based factory automation.

- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- This job may require travels and requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job and must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
