Addiction Medicine Social Worker - LMSW - 40hrs/wk - Days - Maplegrove
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing high quality psychiatric and/or chemical dependency services
as qualified in an ambulatory clinic setting within a region of the business unit. Services
most commonly include evaluations along with individual, group, co-joint, family, and
didactic therapy. As qualified may also provide crisis intervention services for adult
individuals and couples, families, adolescents, and children.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts patient/family evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
2. Performs psychotherapy including group, individual, family, co-joint, didactic as
qualified.
3. Provides crisis counseling intervention in a timely manner to maintain continuity of
care and patient functioning.
4. Provides urgent consultations, evaluations, and crisis services as a member of the
Urgent Care Program (MMG Crisis Intervention).
5. Provides timely access for appointments to patients according to clinic expectations
and standards.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Graduation from an accredited school of social work with a Master’s Degree
required. - Two to four (2-4) years post master's experience in Ambulatory Mental
Health/Substance Use Disorder Clinics preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current Licensed Master Social Work.
- Must have a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) certification
thru the Michigan Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) or have a plan on file
with the MCBAP that obtaining the certification is in process
