Friday, November 6th, 2009 Time To Be Determined Burton Manor Banquet and Conference Center 27777 Schoolcraft Road Livonia, Michigan The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair (MCJF) is a state-wide job fair held in spring and fall each year. It is a cost-effective means both for companies who want to recruit qualified graduates for primarily degreed, entry-level positions, and for job seekers who want to broaden their job search and network with hiring employers. Throughout Michigan, no other job fair has attracted as many schools, graduates and companies at one time, in one day as demonstrated in MCJF's history. It is recommended that you bring 20-25 copies of your résumé on high quality paper as well as a reliable pen. If applicable, also bring a portfolio or a sample of your work to demonstrate your skills. All recruiters are interested in meeting potential candidates. However, it is your responsibility to initiate contact. Keep in mind that any time you meet potential employers, you are being evaluated - even if the meeting lasts only a minute or two. This is why first impressions are so citical. On average, 50% of candidates report receiving follow-up interviews after the fair, and 25% report receiving a job offer. Additionally, when recently surveyed, 80% of employers responded "yes" to hiring candidates from MCJF. There is plenty of free parking at Burton Manor. Both Candidate and Employer entrance doors are located at the rear of the building. Students and graduates of any two-or four-year institution are welcome to attend. The MCJF is primarily targeted toward new college graduates and recent alumni seeking entry-level, professional employment. Some employers may offer opportunities for internships, cooperative education and advanced positions as well. For more information, please visit www.mcjf.org |
