Mitsubishi Motors R & D of America, Inc. (MRDA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. MRDA has headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan and is responsible for automotive testing, development, and component design. MRDA supports the manufacture, assembly, and sale of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in North America through various research activities and development projects related to the design, performance or testing of vehicles, and automotive systems. We provide vehicle development and testing for compliance with government regulations and surveillance.

Ann Arbor, Michigan - A research and development facility responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. government vehicle regulation, testing for compliance with new emissions regulations, research and development activities for new models designed for the U.S. market, increased consumer safety evaluations, and increased testing of parts developed for the U.S. market. The Design Engineering group, also located in Ann Arbor, Michigan is responsible for developing automotive parts using CATIA. The Design group is also responsible for product quality, quantity, scheduling, cost, weight, and investment.
Pittsfield Township, Michigan – The office carries out administrative functions and technical administrative functions that coordinate the business relationship between Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors North America. Functional areas include technical administration, accounting, finance, and human resources.
Cypress, California – An emissions & testing laboratory that ensures compliance with California state vehicle regulations.
Cypress, California - Mitsubishi Design America performs market surveys and product planning for the North American market and is responsible for providing passenger vehicle design proposal for the global market.
Washington, D.C. - An office responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with safety, emissions and other technical regulations affecting Mitsubishi passenger and commercial vehicles in the U.S.
Normal, Illinois - An engineering department responsible for the design of various parts, including chassis, engine, and drive train parts for cars manufactured at the Mitsubishi Motors North America Manufacturing plant.

Our product line offers our customers a choice of vehicles including the entry-level compact (Lancer), mid-sized sedan (Galant), sports coupe (Eclipse), luxury performance sedan (Diamante), sports utility vehicle (Outlander), and luxury sport utility vehicle (Endeavor). Mitsubishi will release a truck line in 2005-06.
