The Interior Program Management Team (PMT) Engineer is responsible for managing the Interior Engineering Commodities through the Global Product Development System vehicle cycle plan timing to implementation. The PMT Engineer collaborates with the PMT Leader to ensure on time completion of all critical tasks (including sourcing, packaging, component development, test, etc.) and compliance versus target for cost and weight. The PMT Engineer often serves as the primary contact for D&R Engineers and will play a key role in managing vehicle interior trouble-shooting and diagnostics during vehicle testing and builds.

Responsibilities

  • Project/ Program Management position acting as Engineering Interface between Program Team and the Interior Applications team
  • Support Interior Team through engineering gateways and launch phases from pre-program through launch
  • Body Interior Single point of contact for Program, finance, Quality, Attribute, and Manufacturing
  • Communicate upcoming deliverables to the Interior team and execute operating system to ensure the work gets done on time, with quality
  • Ensure robust Interior systems sign-off for milestones
  • Drive for timely and efficient issue identification, communication, tracking, and resolution via Ford management systems
  • Keep Interior Management informed in timely fashion, and escalate issues as required.
  • Manages functional content alignment with program objectives
  • Ensures Engineering Design Reviews and associated work streams are consistent with Program timing
  • Support milestone reviews and ensures Engineering delivery
  • Chair weekly meeting with Interior team to manage program business within the function
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • 3+ years of experience leading program specific prototype build processes in the Automotive Industry for the functional area at all build events managing issue resolution
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Product Development Process and Launch Quality Operating System processes
  • 3+ years of program management experience
  • Outstanding organizational skills with proper follow-up to accomplish multiple objectives in timely fashion
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well with others as part of a cross-functional team
  • Outstanding communication skills (open, clear, and inclusive)
  • Self-directed with strong technical capability and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for issue identification, tracking, and presentation
