Job Description

CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST: Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital has immediate openings for 2 full-time clinical neuropsychologist, one at its Grand Rapids, MI location and one at the Saginaw, MI location. Both positions will include provision of comprehensive assessments as well as clinic and team consultation. The Grand Rapids position is primarily outpatient whereas the Saginaw position is currently primarily inpatient but with opportunity to grow an outpatient service. Job sharing / covering of the two respective positions will be possible.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant service that includes six other psychologists at the Grand Rapids. The patient population at both locations ranges from adolescents to the elderly. Diagnostic categories span a wide range but the most common ones include traumatic brain injury, stroke, mild cognitive impairment and dementia. At the Grand Rapids location, the neuropsychologist will be involved with supervision of two residents in an APA-accredited postdoctoral training program in clinical neuropsychology. There are also additional opportunities for participation in applied research at both locations.

Minimum requirements include completion of a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-approved program, including an APA- or CPA-approved internship, with subsequent completion of a 2-year formal postdoctoral residency. Prior clinical experience in a health care setting is essential. Prior rehabilitation exposure will be considered advantageous but is not required. Pursuit of board certification in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology will be expected and supported. Preference will be given to candidates who are eligible for immediate licensure in the state of Michigan. Both early and middle career applicants will be considered, with potential opportunities for future advancement to a leadership role for those with > 5 years of independent post-residency experience.
