Job Description

Key clinical duties include applications of cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy for chronic pain patients. Duties include identification of psychological amplification of pain processes and implementation of psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic modalities as indicated. Part of the time will be spent working as part of a multidisciplinary team (pain specialist, physical therapy, pain psychologist) to address and treat psychological factors of high-impact chronic pain.

Additional duties include pre-procedural psychological screening for implantable therapies (spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulators, the occasional intrathecal infusion pump), psychological screening for ketamine infusions and Prialt, opioid risk stratification evaluations, individual and group therapy, and formal didactic presentations to pain fellows/psychiatry residents/psychology interns.

Requisite experience includes fellowship in health psychology or equivalent experience with medical patients in a hospital setting.
