We are currently building our in-house Engineering staff and are looking for a talented Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee other design engineers with new electrical harness product development activities as well as modifications and extension activities for legacy products. What You Will Do

Concept Design and Development

  • Leads all product development engineering activities required to bring connector product concepts into production as defined by the Molex New Product Development Process (NPD).
  • Creates or oversees creation of the following engineering documentation:

- Presentation material for internal and customer design reviews.

- Product models and drawings in compliance with Molex Drawing Standard and accepted GD&T methodology.

- Engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures.

- Product Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documentation required to identify and eliminate potential product failures.

  • Provides or insure effective Interfacing of other engineers with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, lab, sales and marketing) as well as suppliers and customers, in support of all product development activities.

Design Verification & Product Validation

  • Creates or oversees creation of adequate design validation plan & report (DVP&R) documentation.

Production Support

  • Leads or support other product engineers with internal & customer 8D resolution activities.

Other Duties

  • Understand, support, and contribute to Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality (QS9000), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by following approved policies and procedures.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Performs other work-related duties as required by management.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree
  • 5+ years of design experience with mechanical or electromechanical products

What Puts You Ahead

  • Experience managing project timelines and technical workload within engineering group
  • 2 or more years in technical mentoring role to other design engineers
  • Electrical connector or terminal design experience with depth of knowledge in material mechanics (plastics & metals), manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, plating), & engineering processes/tools (as defined in responsibilities)
