International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) has an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to join the North America HR Business Partner Team. Reporting to the Labor Relations Leader, this position will be based in Midland, MI, and support sites in Larkin, MI, and Rockland, ME (travel will be required on an as needed basis). In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor, coach, and consultant to business leaders in union and non-union environments, closely partnering with the business to improve their people leadership capability, team culture, talent pipeline and people development.

You will bring 5+ years of HR expertise with a strong proficiency in labor management.
You will thrive working in a corporate matrix environment that demands a high level of critical thinking, can do attitude and superior level of interpersonal savvy. The nature of this role requires someone who will be both hands-on and strategic. You will be part of an HR network that is committed to our own development through sharing our expertise to build our internal HR bench strength & capability in a continuous learning environment.

You will spend your time:


Coordinating and implementing HR initiatives such as labor relations, performance and talent management, training & development, organizational design, and provides general HR and employee relations support for the assigned organizations.
Leading matters related to the labor contract at Midland, including but not limited to grievance & arbitration processes, contract negotiations, and maintaining collaborative communication and working relationships with union officials.
Maintain a legally compliant workplace, respond to charges and complaints, lead investigations.
Partnering with Talent Management, and Total Rewards COEs, executing the organizations talent strategy including Talent Acquisitions, DE&I strategy, Workforce Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, KPI's, Total Rewards, Retention and Recognition Planning & Culture, ensuring compliance to global/local processes and legal requirements, adapts programs as necessary to client organization needs within defined program boundaries, and assists management in implementing HR program changes at multiple locations.
Provides counsel and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and related practices.
Advance manager competencies through coaching, feedback and training, a partner with leaders to foster a positive employee experience.
Implementing changes in organizational structure, work design, team-based systems, and organizational communications.
Leading and supporting process improvement efforts and other initiatives for improving organizational performance including participating and leading special projects.


Please note: The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for thepharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will positionPharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet theevolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide.
The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closingconditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it willtransition to Roquette. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience that includes Labor/Employee Relations in unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, engage, influence, impact change, think critically and lead strategic & transformational processes.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple locations.
  • Experience working with shared service models, Workday experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including proficient writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-level attention to details.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
