Registered Nurse - Float Pool - 36 hours per week - 12 hour midnight shift (every other weekend and holiday, float to serve several areas within the hospital)

Full-Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Midnights with alternating weekend & holiday schedule

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

UNIT OVERVIEW:

Float Pool - For float pool you can let them know we require all RN's to maintain a current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. They are assigned at the beginning of each shift to the unit if most need. They are assigned according to certified level of care; you will not be assigned to ER, ICU, or L&D unless that is your certified area of expertise. We require 36 hours per calendar month, with 12 hours minimum over the weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday of 8 hours.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
