DLZ Corporation has an exciting Entry Level Structural Engineer / Bridge Engineer opportunity in Lansing, MI!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform design engineering, bridge inspections and other assignments requiring a solid grasp of the Structural Engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgment.
  • Perform Structural Engineering work under close supervision or provide support to more experienced personnel.
  • Perform analyses and design required for highway structures, systems and equipment items.
  • Prepare detailed drawings in CADD.
  • Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by engineers/technicians. Review and check detailed drawings and layouts.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials or engineering methods.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Perform work in the field as well as in the office.
  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • 0 - 3 years structural engineering experience
  • Engineering Intern (EI), pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • OpenRoads and/or Civil3D experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including; Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all
  • applicable safety codes and requirements.
