General Summary

The Technical Product Development Coordinator is responsible for communication with design, development teams, and operations to assist with new projects, manage timelines, and complete administrative tasks. This is a "hands-on" technical role that also includes a large administrative piece. This position works under general supervision; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; and requires a wide degree of creativity and autonomy to perform the job.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with internal operations and outside vendors to establish and maintain project timelines/schedules for new product launches.

  • Facilitate and provide assistance to Engineering for the testing of new products; provide assistance to third party testing labs for the completion of code compliance reports as needed.

  • Work hands on with the construction of new product prototypes and samples. Complete internal review and testing as needed. Work with engineering to identify changes and set next steps or complete approvals for manufacturing.

  • Complete dimensional analysis for new components from external suppliers as needed.

  • Collaborate with internal designers, purchasing and external vendors on new product component and material sourcing. Assist with costing analysis as needed.

  • Collaborate on new product presentations for sales, customers, and internal management.

  • Work with internal designers for the documentation and communication to marketing and sales for new product specifications, features & benefits, and assembly instructions.

  • Coordinate with legal on distribution, product warranties, and IP related matters.

  • Work to establish new product project ID's and codes for new products and assist with new product sales reporting as needed.

  • Complete documentation and communication of new product specifications and information for the launch of new products.

  • Work with Marketing and/or external vendors to develop new product instructions.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Specifications

Knowledge Required

  • Requires bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent.

  • Two years of product development experience or project coordination experience is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels, customers, and the public.

  • Demonstrated ability to cross-functionally collaborate, communicate and build consensus.

  • Good written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and business-related software.

  • Demonstrated ability to be mobile in the work environment.

  • Ability to pass a drug test
