Quality Technician - Inspection Focus

Business Unit Description:

US Surgical

Job Title/High Level Position Summary:

Assists quality engineering, process engineering, and product development engineering with inspection and inspection tool development. Supports QA personnel with activities intended to assure compliance with quality system regulations and to support other business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop inspection sheets for orthopedic implants, instruments, and associated components
• Draft first article inspection sheets for use at incoming inspection
• Develop overlays for use with optical comparators
• Write and route engineering change orders
• Run and publish reports related to site quality metrics

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training
• Background in medical device or other highly regulated industry required; preferred knowledge of ISO 13485
• Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and inspection equipment

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 10%

Desired Characteristics:

• Knowledge of Solidworks and overlay creation and printing
• Detail oriented and analytical

Physical Requirements:

• Lift/carry/pull up to 25 lbs
• Stand and sit for long periods of time
