The Head of Sales - Additive Manufacturing is leading the North American business within the TRUMPF group. They are responsible for the sales of the additive manufacturing product portfolio. The focus is on development of sales strategies, implementation of business plans, regional growth, and expansion of TRUMPF business into new markets.

Head of Sales - Additive Manufacturing Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the existing sales and applications team both strategically and leading from the front.
  • Work closely with the sales team to drive revenue and be hands-on involved in closing deals with large accounts.
  • Implement and live TRUMPF leadership philosophy SYNCHRO+ which includes the use of adequate key performance indicators, lead with target conditions and behavior excellence.
  • Develop sales strategies within the North American market (e.g. sales vision, target industry strategies, customer acquisition , market intelligence and competitor strategy, account development)
  • Define concrete action plans to implement the country strategy and conduct non-delegable tasks e.g. strategic plans to increase marker sales within automotive industry
  • Steer sales teams according to defined focus market segments, customer classification and customer care concepts
  • Initiate, establish, and coordinate strategic external cooperation (respect extended buying cycles)
  • Transfer TRUMPF's product portfolio into industry projects and approaches
  • Establish TRUMPF as a recognized partner for process development with specific customers segments
  • Influence and drive product development through HQ (country management, research & development)
  • Establish new partnerships with integrators
  • Ensure achievement of the sales targets of the TRUMPF laser division
  • Ensure focus of sales team on the dedicated customers, strategies and products
  • Ensure lead and opportunity management
  • Ensure compliance appropriate behavior within the sales teams
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes within the sales teams
  • Ensure continuous development of employees within the sales teams

Travel

  • Willingness to travel is required for customer visits, shows, events, and additional reasons as needed.
  • Occasional overnights as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, or related industry experience. Higher degree considered an advantage.
  • Professional background in metal additive manufacturing or adjacent business required.
  • Familiar with aerospace, dental or medical industry requirements and buying cycles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Additional language skills preferred.
  • Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
