Job Summary/Basic Function
The Dean of Business, Technology and Workforce Development provides leadership for planning, organizing, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating activities in Business, Technology and Workforce to ensure the delivery of quality programs in support of Bay College's mission. Business & Technology consists of AAS degrees and certificates in Automotive Technology, Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems, Computer Network Systems and Security, Entrepreneurial Small Business, Geographic Information Systems, Marketing, Mechatronics, Office Information Systems, Water Resource Management, and Welding. Workforce Development consists of building and strengthening business and industry partnerships to expand both credit and non-credit course and program options to sustain the local and regional workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree in technology, business, or education from an accredited College or University.
* Minimum three (3) years of management/supervisory experience.
* Teaching experience at a post-secondary level.
* Minimum three (3) years industry experience in an occupational area.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous work experience as an administrator at a Community College or University.
* Three (3) years of teaching experience at a post-secondary level
* Work experience analyzing and preparing budgets.
* Successful experience with enrollment management activities.
* Proven commitment to a student-centered learning philosophy.
* Effective team building skills.
* Knowledge of Perkins Funding processes.
* Accreditation experience.

Hours Worked Per Week 40
Work Schedule Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises the Business Development Managers and all full time and part time faculty associated with the Business and Technology programs, and the Water Learning Assistant/Lab Assistant. This position works closely with the Academic Affairs Coordinator for administrative support.
Supervision Received
Works under the general supervision of the Vice President of Business, Technology, Allied Health and Workforce Development.

Promote quality instruction by overseeing the tenure of new faculty and conducting timely and regular teaching observations/evaluations for both full-time and part-time faculty per faculty contract at all locations.

Support faculty in assessment of student learning outcomes in all program and certificates and provide direction for program improvement.

Lead and support growth in non-credit, customized and competency based education courses and programs as well as internal processes to support these areas.

Recruit, select and develop full-time and part-time faculty with appropriate credentials and proven teaching competence.
Job Duty
Participate in Advisory Board Meetings and other program-related associations/organizations as related to the curricular and economic development area.
Job Duty
Manage for effectiveness the course schedule and assignment of faculty load, per faculty contract and ensure a schedule supporting student and community needs.
Job Duty
Manage the annual Perkins Grant application and reporting and coordinate the Perkins budget development and allocation process among all occupational programs.
Job Duty
Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with Division Chairs and Business and Technology faculty, and Workforce Development staff.
Job Duty
Ensure understanding and compliance of policies and procedures, i.e. Collective Bargaining Agreements, funding sources, academic guidelines, etc.
Job Duty
Manage the K-12 articulation agreement process and support timely renewals and growth to support student enrollment.
Job Duty
Lead and manage the College's Program Evaluation and Review for all Occupational Programs to maintain Perkins compliance.
Job Duty
Demonstrates and supports a culture of of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
Job Duty
Develop and maintain budgets and develop plans for capital requests in a timely manner.
Job Duty
Mediate between faculty and students and/or others, in compliance with federal and state laws and college policies and procedures.

Support occupational open house events and manage annual SkillsUSA event.

Serve on institutional committees and work collaboratively with other areas of the College.

Ensure academic integrity of all educational offerings within the Business, Technology and Workforce areas.

Support and promote the effective use of existing and emerging technologies in the teaching learning process.

Prepare institutional state and national reports as required on a timely basis.
