Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer or Hydrogeologist to assist with environmental investigation and remediation projects. You will join a team of passionate professionals tasked with the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites through the design, specification, development, and assessment of remedial processes. This position requires creativity and attention to detail to help clients understand local, state, and federal law and navigate environmental compliance.
Primary Functions
  • Design and interpret site investigations of contaminated media (soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas, indoor air, and/or sediment).
  • Perform feasibility studies and cost estimating.
  • Design and implement pilot tests.
  • Design and implement ex-situ and in-situ soil, sediment, and groundwater remedial actions.
  • Design vapor mitigation systems
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, performance monitoring plans, operation and maintenance plans, and proposals.
  • Manage projects and communicate with clients and regulators.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Work is generally conducted indoors, but occasionally outdoors. Moderate lifting, carrying, and hiking through uneven terrain and construction or drilling sites. Will also have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. May need to drive vehicle to project sites. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities. Accommodation may be made for some of the physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
Desired Education/Licensure
Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field. PE license, CPG certification, and/or MS degree a plus.
Desired Skills/Experience
  • 8+ years' experience in environmental remediation.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in the design, specification, development, and/or assessment of remediation projects.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations surrounding environmental compliance and remediation.
  • Able to work in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  • Committed to customer service and worker health and safety.
  • Sensitivity to quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office-based software programs.
