To strengthen our team in Adrian,
we are looking for you as a(n) Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the specialty chemical production area, ensuring regulatory and Wacker policy compliance along with good environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction to direct supervisors
  • Responsible for the hourly operators, including staffing levels, overtime, and contract adherence
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance reviews, and training.
  • Ensuring safe work practices are implemented, documented, and adhered to by all employees
  • Ensuring proper housekeeping
  • Interfaced with technical staff to ensure the high quality of our products
  • Coordinate Continuous Improvement activities for the area including the prioritize and oversight of projects to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity and Costs
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain for efficient production schedules and oversee timely execution of the agreed upon schedule.
  • Develop to be the SME and for operations of the department
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to maximize process availability
  • Interact with global or regional colleagues or teams on a regular basis to ensure best practices and implement global technologies
  • Oversee of the budgeting and cost optimization throughout the year to meet cost targets
  • Utilize KPI's to ensure proper direction for the department and lead change to modify direction as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • 7+ years chemical manufacturing experience, preferably batch production
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • SAP experience a plus
