Software Systems Engineer and Technical Project Lead

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to not just develop software for Army Ground Systems, but to build a system that will improve U.S. Army ground systems? As a Software Systems Engineer, you can solve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast-paced, agile environment. We're looking for a Software Systems Engineer with the advanced skills needed to build embedded software products for military applications from vision to production-ready systems.

This role is more than just coding. You will serve as the project lead and technical lead to direct complex projects and programs throughout the entire software development life cycle. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, financial and contract management, solutions definition, implementation, and delivery, software development and maintenance management, customer management, vendor management, issues and risks management, communication, and team leadership. You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with software development, software maintenance, and system integration
  • Experience with stakeholder agreement management, project and work plan definition, work plan execution, communication management, risk and issue management, resource management, supplier management, and intellectual capital management
  • Experience with development expertise to translate stakeholder and system needs into software requirements
  • Experience with C and C++ software development
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, including Agile software development methodology
  • Ability to lead a software development team through all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Ability to model, architect, design, develop, code, integrate, test, and manage embedded software solutions to provide and sustain operational capabilities in military ground systems and vehicles
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Software Engineering of embedded systems
  • Knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and tools, including SVN, Bitbucket, Git, or JIRA
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including RedHat or RedHawk
  • Ability to develop and execute software and electronics life cycle management, development, transition, and sustainment and support plans
  • Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
