Job Description

You will have the opportunity to lead the engineering activities required for new sensor development projects as well as modifications and extension activities to existing products. You will be responsible for all phases required to bring concepts into production.

What You Will Do

Leads all product development engineering activities required to bring current sensor concepts into production.

Creates or oversees creation of the following engineering documentation:

- Presentation material for internal and customer design reviews.

- Product models and drawings with GD&T methodology.

- Product Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documentation required to identify and eliminate potential product failures.

Provides or insure effective Interfacing of other engineers with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, lab, sales and marketing) as well as suppliers and customers, in support of all product development activities.

Creates or oversees creation of adequate design validation plan & report (DVP&R) documentation.

Leads or support other product engineers with internal & customer 8D resolution activities.

Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the development of current sensors for automotive applications
  • Knowledge of magnetics, sensor calibration, manufacturing processes, engineering processes and tools, as well as materials is important U
  • Understanding of ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Levels) and how current sensors can be used to help our customers meet their ASIL requirements is important.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Advanced degree specializing in the area of automotive sensor technology
  • 7+ years of product design in the area of current sensors for automotive applications
  • Knowledge in state-of-the-art materials or manufacturing processes for the sensor industry
  • Experience in creating and maintaining engineering workplans and timelines for an engineering team
  • Experience in providing technical mentoring of less experienced engineers.
