Job Description

Position Summary: Summer Day Camp Site Supervisor will report to the Program Director at the beginning of every week. They will oversee the everyday activities at the Summer Day Camp Site. They will be responsible to supervise the head counselors and counselors to perform their daily assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill all administration responsibilities for the SHARE site assigned
  • Be actively involved with the children when possible
  • Care for and be responsive to the needs of the site.
  • Communicate messages to the Director, staff, campers, and parents
  • Help with coordination of training week
  • Coordinate registration and payment
  • Assist in planning field trips for site
  • Facilitate the Summer Food Program
  • Coordinate site staff's daily assignments.
  • Coordinate and track staff schedule, breaks, and time-off requests and ensure coverage for those absent
  • Assist Business Administrator with summer day camp employee timesheets for payroll.
  • Assist the Corps Officers with planning and hosting weekly staff morale meetings.
  • Assist the Program Ministry Director and Corps Officers in the effective running of the daily operation of the Corps Community Center by fulfilling all assigned duties.
  • All other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or Corps Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • At least two years of experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting
  • Have previous experience in responsible leadership position

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) obtain within 30 days of hire
  • CPR and First aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
