POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Commercial Strategy will drive the company's strategic planning and execution efforts, with an emphasis on commercial excellence. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future direction of the company and fostering sustainable growth through effective channel and go-to-market strategies. This role will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the company's goals and objectives.

This position will be tasked with innovating new ways for RealTruck to eliminate obstacles that customers face when beginning their customization journey. This effort includes reevaluating the merchandising approach and developing a channel strategy that strengthens RealTruck's presence across different market segments.

This role will encompass a comprehensive approach, covering enterprise initiatives while also focusing on shaping the channel strategy. The individual will be responsible for defining how RealTruck wins and enables each channel, ensuring that the company's strategies are tailored to maximize success in each market segment. Utilitizing strategic thinking and leadership skills, this individual will drive change and deliver tangible results including strengthening the company's aftermarket integration by enhancing the RealTruck dealer network. The workplan will involve creating a RealTruck assortment of retail fixtures including the scoping and developing shop and shop concepts, all with the purpose of creating the ultimate in-store experience for customers. Navigating the complexities of a dynamic business environment, the individual will manage competing priorities and stakeholders to successfully implement large-scale initiatives that drive growth and enhance the company's market positioning.

This role is initially a project-based position for 18-24 months, focusing on defining and implementing our commercial strategy. However, it is designed to transition into a more operational role within the business, specifically in areas such as commerce, sales, or product marketing. This position will not only use strategic acumen to define the company's commercial strategy but will also drive and take on a hands-on, operator role. This position will offer the opportunity for growth within the company, with the expectation that the successful candidate will evolve into a key leader driving operational excellence and business growth.

This role will have high visibility throughout the organization, including exposure to customers, investors, and the Board of Directors. This presents a unique opportunity to influence and shape our strategic direction while interacting with key decision-makers.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Lead the development and execution of the company's overall strategic plan, with a focus on commercial excellence and channel strategy.
    • Lead the planning and execution of large, cross-functional, and complex enterprise initiatives.
    • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that drive growth and innovation across all areas of the organization.
    • Build and manage cross-functional teams to drive alignment and collaboration on strategic initiatives.
  • Channel Strategy and Development:
    • Work closely with our category and sales organization to conduct research to identify market trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis to inform channel strategy and overall go-to-market (GTM) strategy. Work to Leverage consumer research to understand shopping by channel and consumer segment; understand tactical vs. strategic channels.
    • Lead the creation of compelling, holistic selling materials ie., create RealTruck assortment of retail fixtures that make our products and programs best in class.
    • Define clear product strategies to enable retailers to efficiently sell the "correct" product.
    • Increase lifetime value of each aftermarket consumerby providing a personalized shopping experience. This includes designing and investments in merchandising, sales training, and capabilities. Exceptional customer service and product installation will be key as we also explore consumer loyalty programs and how we can continue engaging with the community.
    • Provide oversight and strategic guidance regarding the category development agenda and the development and operationalization of the category growth strategy.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the success of initiatives.
  • Communicate progress, results, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to achieve business growth and competitive advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred.

* Associate partner and engagement manager at a top tier consulting firm (e.g., Mckinsey, BCG, Bain) is highly desirable.

* Experience in leading commercial transformation projects in consumer goods and/or automotive aftermarket sales. Having worked closely with lifestyle brands is also preferred and a plus given RealTruck's aspiration.

* 10+ years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or related commercial/sales leadership roles required.

* Experience as engagement manager or junior partner at a top tier consulting firm, with a wealth of experience in commercial strategy and/or multi-channel sales projects highly preferred.

* Experience in consumer goods or automotive industries who have held roles in strategy or led commercial transformation projects across various channels before.

* Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects is essential

* Experience in developing and implementing commercial excellence initiatives is a plus.

* Ability to communicate complex ideas and recommendations in a simple manner, both in writing and verbally.

* Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement large, cross-functional initiatives within an organization.

* Familiarity with technology solutions that support commercial excellence, such as CRM systems, analytics tools, and digital marketing platforms.

* Leadership in leading large projects in multiple (2-3) channels (e.g., large store, small store, specialty stores, dealer etc.).

* Knowledge of industry trends and best practices related to channel strategy and go-to-market strategy.

* Easily builds relationships with customers and co-workers.

* Ability to effectively communicate and gain buy-in for new ideas and approaches will be crucial in driving meaningful change and achieving strategic objectives.

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs. Agility and strategic acumen will be crucial in identifying new opportunities and breaking away from predefined ideas of success and finding innovative solutions to enhance commercial strategies.

* Deep understanding of commercial excellence strategies, including pricing, sales force effectiveness, market segmentation, and customer engagement.

* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business growth and enhance commercial effectiveness.

Travel

* Minimal travel required (less than 10%).

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
