The Technical Sales Engineer position will be part of a team that provides critical support to our global sales channels in offering Endress+Hauser spectroscopic products and services. This position provides advanced technical product support to the Sales Support team. These products are used within Endress+Hauser's seven key industries for global markets or specific world areas, with emphasis on Oil & Gas, Chemical, Life Science, and Food & Beverage industries.

Role + Responsibilities

  • Support sales specialist team in responding to Request for Quote (RFQ) by recommending specific products and solutions, whilst providing supporting documentation and drawings.
  • Decipher technical product specifications and keep up to date with new company products as well as industry trends.
  • Attend and host training, seminars, and workshops to improve skills and share knowledge.
  • Provide technical, application, and product support to global sales channels - in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Active use of multiple databases to plan, execute, and manage day to day sales activities.
  • Support Order Entry team in execution of orders as projects from order entry through equipment installation.
  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend optimal product configurations based on their specific applications.
  • Customize equipment setups to meet individual customer needs, considering factors such as sample size, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of process interfaces and fine-tune parameters for optimal results.

Qualification + Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • An expert at tolerance analysis and ensuring that parts meet these tolerances.
  • Experience with pressure vessel design, welding, sealing, buckling and structural analysis is a plus.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy, tribology, alloy/chemistry compatibility, coating, heat treating is a plus.
  • Team player with strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and people skills, including the ability to interface with customers and handle issues tactfully and professionally.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Infor OSI ERP, SAP and/or Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Ability to report and present on technical topics.
  • Must have strong attention to detail with the ability to catch and correct errors.
  • Must be reliable and dedicated, with personal integrity and high level of respect for all individuals.
  • An understanding of ATEX/CSA/IEC certification is a plus.
