REPORTS TO: Operations / Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

To coordinate all manufacturing related activities in the department including Environmental/Health/Safety administration, Quality Systems, internal customer interface, preventive and daily maintenance, daily operations, productivity and positive employee relations. Coordinate the activities of the manufacturing employees and set-up personnel. Work closely with the following departments: Human Resource, Quality, and Engineering and Maintenance personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees and compliancy with plant policies and procedures including requirements for TS16949.
  • Support positive employee relations initiates.
  • Champion Change and challenge "status quo"
  • Coach and Develop associates including providing performance feedback.
  • Must be able to assess strengths and developmental needs of employees as well as provide challenging assignments and opportunities for development.
  • Foster Teamwork at the cell level, value stream level and organizational level
  • Assure that quality, productivity, and cost are meeting goals, utilizing BOS to drive improvement and monitor performance.
  • Fulfill production schedules to meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with production employees and Engineering to assure parts specifications comply.
  • Manage and monitor the relationship of downtime, changeovers, and process improvements as it directly relates to quality, efficiency, and scrap.
  • Promote ideas and proposals persuasively and energetically and have a clear vision of performance goals for the plant/business.
  • Adaptable to the changing demands in order to meet goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education, college degree preferred; two to five years' experience in manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Proven record of pro-active leadership
  • Above average structured problem-solving techniques and documentation skills
  • Supervisor Experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • A team player who is results driven, able to work under pressure, has strong leadership skills, high energy, strong organizational skills, is empathetic and able to deal with issues in an open, honest manner.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.

  • Stand in place for long periods of time and use dexterity of hands to handle and feel materials.
