Regional Director - ICCT - Central - US
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership, administrative and management support, strategic planning and overall direction of the regional site's Integrated Care Coordination teams (ICCT).
  • The incumbent will have accountability for the profitability of the regional ICCT as impacted by medical expenses and trend.
  • The incumbent promotes a positive public image, facilitates the establishment of effective and efficient internal and external customer interfaces and ensures development of staff through the implementation of logically developed goals, objectives and strategic plans.
  • The incumbent will have managerial oversight of Associate Directors who in turn have oversight (virtually and locally) Supervisors, inpatient CMs, case managers, Social workers, behavioral health advocates, and administrative staff.
  • Medical management and strategic planning
  • Responsible for achieving and maintaining profitability as impacted by medical expenses and trends in each of the regional sites.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with providers, as well as with internal plan management, in setting direction and strategic planning to develop, implement and monitor action plans to modify care delivery patterns and reduce expenses.
  • Develops annual goals and objectives to achieve appropriate reductions in medical expenses that correlate with continuous performance improvement efforts.
  • Utilizes timely and meaningful financial/utilization reports to assist providers in their efforts to alter their care delivery patterns to support compliance with the care delivery model of AmeriChoice.
  • Fosters innovative problem solving and upholds principles of continuous quality improvement.
  • Works closely with Health Plan leadership to provide updates, feedback, metrics as well as identification for opportunities for improvement.
  • Works with health plan leadership to develop strategic initiatives as ongoing improvement.
  • Works closely with the MSO to provide oversight as the delegated vendor for Interview and Assessment team and Disease Management.
  • Monitor metrics daily, weekly, quarterly and annually to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads and develops staff in areas of personal growth
  • Responsible for guiding development of multiple levels of professional staff while serving as a role model, teacher, coach and leader.
  • Communicates departmental and corporate goals and engages everyone in their achievement.
  • Provides staff with opportunities that lead to enhancement of their individual management and leadership skills
  • Serves as the key Health Services resource and consultant to internal and external customers including functioning as the key interface with the AmeriChoice corporate staff.
  • Development and continual refinement of operational processes within the health care delivery system to promote system-wide best practices and validate full implementation of programs as well as continuous assessment of their impact and utility.
  • Conducts or directs assessments and produces analysis documents to guide strategic planning.
  • Directs cross-functional strategic and refinement projects.
  • Ensures the integrity of processes and reports associated with the tactical initiatives.
  • Coaches team regarding policies and procedures, and validates compliance.
  • Promotes a positive internal and external public image.
  • Forms internal and external strategic relationships which will support program growth, expansion and the development of new models/programs.
  • Demonstrates/validates the existence of flourishing partnerships and a presence in the community, if necessary.
  • Multiple/diverse activities spanning multiple/diverse counties within the assigned region, and multiple levels including key management staff and directors.
  • Manages ICC staff either at a designated office and field-based positions to include ball staff identified as part of the ICCT
  • Makes critical judgments regarding budgets and associated target setting and has potential to impact the growth of multiple sites.
  • This position entails a high degree of complexity both in terms of internal and external clients.
  • Decisions have a direct and immediate impact on AmeriChoice bottom line.
  • Direct managerial responsibility for the Integrated Care Coordination Associate Directors in the designated region, accountability for all ICCT staff, regular interface with senior leadership, health plan leadership, sister segments, external customers and vendors.
  • Interaction with regulatory agencies and corporate senior management

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Clinical Registered Nurse with current licensure required
  • Bachelors degree in Science or Business required; Masters degree preferred
  • 8+ years working in Medicaid and/or Medicare health care and insurance industry, including regulatory and compliance requirements
  • 6+ years demonstrated leadership and team management/development skills
  • 6+ years of experience setting strategic direction as well as developing tactical plans and driving performance
  • Clinical practice experience preferred.
  • Problem solving skills; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action
  • Thorough understanding of managed care principles, models, and financing
  • Microsoft software proficient preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others
  • Proven competency delivering oral presentations utilizing PowerPoint
