Position Description

We're currently recruiting a Nurse Manager for our Pediatric Emergency Services. Position is full time and includes our full benefit package. Our client serves more than 39,000 patients each year and our new 14-story Hospital will serve as West Michigan's first dedicated pediatric emergency department. Set to open in late 2010 the new Hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing the best care possible for children and their families.

Job Summary: Assumes 24-hour accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services/unit of the hospital. Develops policies, procedures and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are provided at all times to all customers. Key responsibilities include unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, human resource development, performance improvement and maintenance of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships.

Job Requirements:

*Bachelor degree in nursing or health related field.

*Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan.

*Three years clinical experience and one year of previous supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and years of experience.

*Must have excellent communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest, constructive feedback, supporting team goals and encouraging fellow team members.
