Position Description

The Opportunity

This position is responsible for advising management in personnel policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions.
In this position you will have the opportunity to drive HR initiatives that support business objectives.
Assisting managers and employees in understanding and applying HR tools in order to maximize employee performance, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employee's engagement, and ensure legal compliance.
Responsible for implementation and administration of most or all of the following human resource functions: employment, employee relations, equal opportunity, organizational development, affirmative action, performance management, and health and safety services programs for assigned clients.
Manages relationships with line managers within respective business units to ensure timely and effective support is provided in all areas of HR.
Interacts with both management and employee groups to resolve employee relations issues.
The HR Manager will also ensure the consistent application of policies, procedures and practices across the Company, ensuring compliance from a legal perspective.

Under the direction of the HR Director, analyzes HR trend information to recommend changes to practices and policies and improve employee retention. Oversees the activities of the personnel and records.
Under the supervision of the HR Director, assists with the analysis, design, development, maintenance, revision and implementation of employee programs and services that enhance and optimize working conditions within the Company.
Promotes HR as a business partner to managers and support to employees so they are able to use HR business tools effectively.
Partners with full time recruiter and line management to fill select openings with qualified candidates. Assists in applying robust, consistent and fair recruitment processes to ensure the company hires employees who meet current and future business needs.
Work as a liaison between line management and various "Centers of Excellence", in areas such as benefits, compensation, organizational development, etc.
Act as a liaison for employee and manager initiated functions and transactions that have been outsourced to Hewitt, entry level employee relation issues, training, affirmative action, immigration, etc.


-Bachelor's Degree and 5 - 7 yrs. HR experience, PHR or SPHR preferred. ---Master's degree a plus.
-Working knowledge of HRIS, PeopleSoft experience preferred.
-Demonstrated knowledge of communication techniques both written and verbal.
-Must have strong/thorough HR generalist experience, excellent, keen analytical skills, ability to handle and manage multiple projects at the same time and to provide sound recommendations for new HR Programs.
-Must have excellent understanding of employment law.
-Must have a strong customer focus for internal as well as external customers.
-Must be adaptable, a team player and able to achieve results tied to business initiatives.
